MINI has teamed up with OVO Energy to encourage customers to go green.

MINI has announced a partnership with OVO Energy, providing an offer of 5,000 free miles to new MINI Electric owners in the UK.

Customers of the brand’s first fully electric vehicle, who choose to make a simple switch from their current home energy supply to OVO’s EV Everywhere package, will get the electricity for their first 5,000 miles charged at home for free.

The EV Everywhere bundle uses 100 per cent renewable electricity, supporting customers on their journey to zero-carbon living.

David George, Director at MINI UK, said: “Our MINI Electric customers have already taken a big step in lowering their carbon emissions, so we’re pleased now to recommend this exclusive offer with OVO Energy, for those drivers who want to reduce their footprint even further.”

In addition to offering 5,000 miles free, customers will also have access to the Polar Plus membership which will provide easy access to over 7,000 charge points across the UK.

Tom Pakenham, Director of Electric Vehicles at OVO Energy, said: “The partnership between OVO Energy and MINI UK brings even more electric vehicle drivers across the UK the opportunity to benefit from smart charging. Our EV Everywhere bundle helps customers have more control over their total energy usage, with a complete at-home and on-the-go energy solution, enabling zero-carbon driving.”

In January 2020, OVO Energy announced that it now owns SSE’s GB household energy business. Through its retail brands OVO now serves almost 5 million customers. A combination of SSE’s scale and OVO’s technology capabilities will enable millions more customers to decarbonise their homes, while keeping their costs down.
