Join a climate strike of millions: 20th September 2019

22 07 2019 | 12:16

Three million people, of all ages and in hundreds of countries, walking out of schools and workplaces together for one shared purpose, a Global Climate Strike.

Greta Thunberg and the movement of school strikers have issued a call for everyone - parents, workers, all concerned citizens - to join them on the streets. That’s what we’re doing starting on September 20th. And this time, it’ll be bigger, bolder and louder than ever before.

Climate breakdown is the most serious challenge we’ve ever faced. But by joining together, across ages and borders, and in massive numbers, we can stop business as usual and demand urgent action from our leaders. And start building a better world in the process.

Hear the call from the school strikers and pledge to join the Global Climate Strike and the week for future starting on September 20th.

Why a global climate strike? Business as usual is what has caused the climate crisis, and business as usual is making it worse. While one day of climate striking won’t solve everything, it will show those in power that people refuse to stand by in the face of climate crisis.

Disrupting a whole day of work is a big ask, and we know that not everyone will be able to join in. If you can’t spare a whole day, walk out during your lunch break. The strike on September 20 will kick-start a week of climate action with many different plans and events, so sign up even if climate striking is not for you: you’ll find something that fits with your capacity and schedule.

This mobilisation of people will be bigger than ever before: don’t miss out! Only by gathering in millions across the globe can we disrupt the path to climate breakdown that we are on, and demand a just, clean future.

So join in and be part of one of the biggest movements ever. Pledge to join the Global Climate Strike now.
