Federal court suspends license for massive 3GW green hydrogen project in Brazil and orders work to stop

State government had acted unlawfully when approving the project last year, judge rules, raising questions about whether the country’s largest green ammonia facility will ever go ahead

The Brazilian federal court in the northeastern state of Piauí has suspended the license for a 3GW green hydrogen and ammonia project, ordering the halt of any work due to a lack of authorised water use and risks to the region’s electrical system.
