Greening Kenya Initiatives: 50 million Trees to Pave the Way for the Forest Coverage in Kenya
United Nations Environment Programme will tomorrow, 11 April 2019, host a round-table breakfast meeting at the Trademark Hotel, Village Market in Nairobi. The breakfast meeting aims at mobilizing support to implement the “Greening Kenya Initiatives”, that aims to grow and nurture and avail to local communities approximately 50 million trees, as part of the Government’s efforts to rapidly move towards achieving the constitutional target of 10% national forest cover by 2022.
Greening Kenya Initiatives is led by the State Department of Correctional Services of the Ministry of Interior in partnership with the Ministry of Environment and Forestry, the Ministry of National Youth and Gender affairs, with support from the United Nations Environment Programme.
