The Lobito Corridor is set to transform trade and mining logistics across central and southern Africa.

Spanning more than 1,300 km from the port of Lobito in Angola through the DRC to Zambia’s Copperbelt, it is the first open-access transcontinental rail corridor on the continent, giving landlocked mining regions direct access to an Atlantic seaport.

It’s intended to boost regional trade, reduce transportation costs for mining companies, and potentially make currently uneconomical ore grades viable to mine. It will unlock the economic potential of Africa’s mineral wealth while fostering regional development and international partnerships.

Mining Review Africa brings you an expert-led discussion on the Corridor, exploring its potential to transform African mining, trade and regional integration.

This webinar brought together a panel of industry leaders to unpack opportunities, challenges, and the wider economic impact of this landmark project.
