AMMIN focuses on stakeholder engagement, policy advocacy and cross-continental collaboration

Stanley Opara, Executive Director of the African Methane Mitigation and Intelligence Network (AMMIN), is leading a push to position Africa at the forefront of global methane reduction efforts.

Speaking at an industry event in Cape Town, Opara emphasised the importance of uniting policymakers, operators, and stakeholders across the continent to tell Africa’s own story on methane emissions.

AMMIN focuses on stakeholder engagement, policy advocacy and cross-continental collaboration, particularly between the Global North and Global South to build local capacity and share expertise.

A major priority, Opara said, is accurate data collection and analysis to showcase what operators in Africa are doing to reduce methane emissions.

Watch him explain the importance of telling Africa’s story by Africans and underscores the need for ongoing dialogue and action
