Η 2η εκδήλωση του ΙΕΝΕ “The Geopolitics of Energy Transition” στην Αθήνα στις 5 Μαρτίου 2019
The Institute of Energy for SE Europe (IENE), under the auspices of the Hellenic Ministry of Foreign Affairs, is organizing the 2nd colloquium on the broad theme of “Energy and Geopolitics”. The colloquium will take place in Athens, on Tuesday, March 5, 2019, between 09:00 and 18:00. Eminent academics in the field of International Relations as well as energy professionals from the UK, Belgium, China, Greece, Bulgaria, Romania, Serbia, Turkey and Israel will be among the speakers and panelists of this highly topical event.
The scope of this year’s colloquium is to review energy policies, activities and projects in the broader geographical region of SE Europe, and beyond, and to draw some useful lessons concerning the geopolitical trends in relation to energy.
The Colloquium is structured along four main sessions as follows:
- Overview of latest global and regional developments
- Oil & Gas exploration and production
- Electricity and Renewable energy sources
- Latest geopolitical trends and perspectives.
As geopolitics and energy are two domains directly influencing one another, monitoring, analyzing and reporting on geopolitical developments is part of IENE’s brief. To this end, the Institute has, from time to time, organized various events on geopolitics and energy, as well as special postgraduate courses, under the theme of “An introduction on Energy and Geopolitics”. Moreover, IENE’s Geopolitics Committee publishes a special bulletin, disseminated on a regular basis to all Institute members.
Further information and registration details for the Colloquium will soon become available through IENE’s website at www.iene.gr and www.iene.eu.
