Audit for GSAS Design & Build Certification of Al Wakrah Stadium has been completed.

Doha: The Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy (SC) has completed all the audit requirements for Global Sustainability Assessment System (GSAS) Certification of Al Wakrah stadium, which is administered in Qatar by the Gulf Organization for Research and Development (GORD). 

On its Twitter account, SC informed that the final audit has just been completed and the GORDMENA audit team was led by Dr Yousef Al Horr, founding chairman GORD.

In total GORDMENA has conducted 11 sustainability audits of Al Wakrah Stadium.

The SC is targeting three GSAS certifications for Al Wakrah Stadium - GSAS Design & Build, GSAS Construction Management and Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio of the Energy Centre.

In November, Al Wakrah Stadium and Al Bayt Stadium Al Khor City were awarded a Class A* rating by GSAS, which is administered in Qatar by the Gulf Organization for Research & Development (GORD).

Al Wakrah Stadium with a capacity of 40,000 is due to be completed soon. Designed by celebrated Iraqi-British architect Zaha Hadid, the stadium will host matches up to the quarter-finals stage during Qatar 2022.
